Travel today was up USA Bowl out to No Name Bowl then on to South Monitor. No Name Bowl NE facing, 9400ft was starting to get damp around 11:00AM the more easterly part of the bowl had already gone off and there was some natural wet activity that had covered the skin track, while hiking out fairly large wet point releases were easily triggered with a small push of snow off the ridge. These wet slides would entrain quite a bit of snow and widen as they ran in steeper terrain, with enough force to send you off a cliff or push you into trees. We figured we spent enough time there when wet activity had partially buried the skin track. We then moved to higher elevation more northerly terrain in South Monitor, the skiers far right side was still dry when we left around 2:00PM. But the south facing exit was fully saturated, and a bit herky jerky. I would think the wet activity might be on the decline tomorrow but I would still be suspicious of steep terrain with damp snow.
