Problem
Wind Drifted Snow
Trend
Decreasing Danger
Problem #1 Comments
Although wind has been mostly light in this area, there are a few wind slabs out there. I'm concerned with both new snow and old snow wind slabs and continue to maintain distance from and steep wind loaded slopes.
Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Trend
Same
Problem #2 Comments
With a foot of new medium to light snow spread out over 2 days my concern is limited to steep rocky terrain that has newly formed wind slabs which could then step down into a weak persistent layer.
Comments
Although sluffing was widespread in steep north facing terrain yesterday as seen in the pic below, the second pic shows a WNW aspect at 40+ degrees in the center which held solid today.
