Problem #1 Comments
Sunday night's storm provided plenty of low-density snow available to transport. Moderate WSW winds were having their way with the new snow along upper elevations and loading windward slopes.

Problem #2 Comments
We dug a hole today on a North facing slope at 9000' to check out the February 2nd Near Surface Facets and Surface hoar layer. We found the layer of NSF and preserved surface hoar but it was not reactive in tests. In the upper cottonwoods, it's possible these facets are no longer an issue, although I would not rule them out quite yet. We'll have to wait and see how they react during our series of upcoming storms.
