Problem #1 Comments
Surface hoar on North aspects survived yesterday's extreme winds and hasn't bonded well with new snow. Fist-plus-soft storm slab reactive 30cm from snow surface on that buried depth hoar layer. It's an isolated problem in protected leeward terrain that could well pose a problem with additional loading and evolve into our new persistent weak layer.
Also 2" storm-slab formation on upper-elev South, reactive and propagating. Not concerning enough to dissuade us from descending an attractive USA Bowl glade from Vermont's Northeast Kingdom down to Nashville. A localized problem? Suspect this won't be an issue when the snow has a couple days to settle, but it will continue to be reactive, and increasingly so, for the next few days as the 2019 Groundhog Storm continues to blow through the Beehive State. Ditto that buried depth hoar on protected norths, e.g. Wilson Glade. So, yeah, poor snowpack structure. Definitely something to keep in mind.
One good sign: the new snow appears to have bonded well with the crust layers on South mid-elev, even if it may be a little bit upside down.

Problem #2 Comments
Intense wind blown snow on the ridge connecting Scott's Hill and the Monitors decreased to moderate in the PM, but snow was transporting on those ridge lines like NYC commuters: in a hurry!
Those cornices aren't getting any smaller, and the wind slabs below them are loving this southerly wind regime.
Comments
Strong AM winds decreased to moderate-strong in the PM. Again, Intense wind transport, decreasing to moderate in the PM.
Three-inches new storm snow, mostly graupel grouping up with stellars. 12" storm snow.
I really liked the riding on upper-elevations, but my touring partners were preferential to the mids.
