Did a tour from butler fork to one of the chutes on the north side of Mt. Raymond. It felt like spring skiing on the way up and down. At around 3pm we had just finished our run down and had transitioned to skin back up the West Butler Saddle and ultimately circle all peak to get to the car. The skin track inside of butler saddle is on a south and sw slope so it is ripe for rapid afternoon warming on a warm bluebird day. I did not record the coordinates, but just as you really begin to go uphill again, we heard lots of whumpfs. Ultimately adjusted our track to duck into the trees but the path of least resistance (and the current skin track) would take you right through the middle of a 30+ degree slope which dumps into aspens. Would not make for a fun or easy ride even in a small slide. Throughout the day the wind was blowing towards this slope (from the south) and this area gets a lot of sun exposure. Anyhow, if you are skinning out of there anytime in the near future, I'd avoid skinning through anything that is not an island of safety. Was at roughly 8'600, just below/beside a 50' sub-ridge.
