Great, easy turning conditions. Slight (very skiable) melt-freeze crust where the slope tilted south. Damp snow noted on lower elevation south thru east facing slopes. Near Surface Facets have formed on other aspects combined with surface hoar on upper protected north.

Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
The buried weak layer that formed during the high pressure in mid December is still present- but it seems to be getting stronger.
Comments
I didn’t have any failures in my stability tests- snow pit @9400ft east facing. Total depth 140cm with mid December weak layer at 70cm. Small damp facets at the ground.
We will want to monitor how the current near surface facets bind to any new snow (which is in the forecast for this weekend).
