Skinned up to Will's Hill / Will's Shoulder via Willow Fork and Little Willow. We departed around 9:00 am and noticed a layer of light crust with low-density snow on its surface on a Southwest facing aspect at low elevations - 8,200'.
Our guide dug a 120 cm deep snow pit on a West/Northwest aspect at 9,580' at 11 am. The test provided an ECTP25 at 70 cm down on a weak, faceted layer.
Our Avy 2 class then dug two separate pits on a West/Northwest aspect at 9,850' just North of the original pit above Will's Hill. Each pit was roughly 150 cm deep. Each provided an ECTN.
Will's Hill was our exit route. The slope featured settled powder.
