Doug a pit Flannigan's nw facing 9500' hs 100cm very close to cliffy area. Nothing new or exciting.
ECT was similar to others reported lately. 2 results.
1. 15 taps 6" from top (new snow density change)
2. tap 23 newer snow/old snow(dry spell Jan surface facets. Further taps mushed under shovel.
Both propagated only below shovel, both fracture s were very rough.
Depth hoar lightly bonded but bonds are broken quite easily with a poke and turns to sugar. 4 finger. Dry.
Snow surface lightly faceted. It takes south to crust up. Current M/F crust is still bonded so far.
Despite no snow for a week and a weekend traffic cycle, turning is creamy north side of compass where not wind damaged.
January always provides.
