Persistent Weak Layer

Problem #1 Comments
Weak faceted snow exists throughout the entire snowpack on all aspects at 9200'-10000'. In many areas, the absence of a cohesive slab diminished the hazard posed by these persistent weak layers.
Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
Wind Drifted Snow
Trend

Problem #2 Comments
No hazard observed in our travels due to slope angle, but WDS slabs of up to to 10 cm were present on our route. Cornices are starting to form and small cornices were stubbornly reactive to kicking on NE aspects.
Comments
Observed multiple collapses while traveling in low angle terrain on Flat and W, NW, and SE slopes between 9200-9800'. These were isolated to areas that were more exposed and had a stiffer wind slab sitting on top of a mostly facetted snowpack. Distribution and frequency of collapsing was notable.
