Snow Characteristics Comments
Wednesday's snow set up well. Easy trail breaking conditions. Only sinking in a few inches on skis, less than a foot on sled.
Red Flags
Red Flags Comments
No obvious signs of instability, but I'm still finding weak sugary or faceted snow (near surface facets) buried and preserved by the 12/12 storm.
Avalanche Problem #1
Problem #1 Comments
Stiff drifts are widespread in exposed upper elevation terrain, but those that I found were not very sensitive. Wind slabs may fail on a sugary weak layer buried on 12/12. So, actual problem is now perhaps more a persistent weak layer..

Comments
I found air space, faceted snow, and rock at the bottom of my pit. A propagating result with the ECT on weak sugary snow under the 12/12 storm snow. Overall though, snow is looking pretty good.
Even though the snow is only 2 or 3 feet deep in many areas, it's settled well and coverage is pretty good for this time of year. Still a bit too shallow to ride the steep hills or get overly aggressive.
