Bluebird skies above the thick inversion. Inversion elevation (top of cloud layer) dropped from about 8000’ to 7500’ during mid-day. Felt very cold below cloud level. Much warmer above the clouds in the sun. Saw a few brief “diamond dust” flurries around the top of the cloud layer.

Comments
I found what appeared to be “rimed” surface hoar in localized sheltered areas at mid-elevations.
Also found this interesting surface texture on an old ski track turn. Don’t think I’ve seen something like this before.
Thick inversion along the Wasatch Front and in the Ogden Valley.
