Comments
No visibility above 8600 ft on Folly or Logan Peak. Better visibility to the south on north facing slopes. Dug a pit about 40 vertical feet below the top of Exit. 90 cm total depth. 25 degree slope angle, open slope. Shovel compression test failed on isolation about 50 cm down. Extended Column Test failed on 14 with moderately energetic propagation across the entire column. Failure was on top of the depth hoar (facets) about 20 cm above the ground. Ground was very smooth, no grass, no rocks, nor other material sticking up into the facets. Cornices starting to form along the ridge line.
I encountered two horsemen on the trail just below 4-20 as I ascended and they descended. I yielded right of way off the trail but as the horsemen passed me the horses start to charge me and they had to back off and try multiple times to pass. They rode up to the bottom of DB. The middle part of the trail is totally thrashed with postholes and there is horse shit across the trail in several places.
