Comments
We stayed on 30ish degree slopes all day and didn't see any cracking or hear any collapsing. The avalanche guns were going off all day, but I didn't observe any natural or human triggered avalanches. The snow seems to be gaining strength, but I think that upper elevation northish facing slopes will have a persistent base layer of rotten facets that will remain as long as we keep having cold temperatures.
The skiing was excellent on moderate angle slopes, but I think the #1 danger will be as slopes get more tracked out and people start venturing into steeper terrain, some of the bigger north facing lines will still be dangerous. I cut a few little steeper test slopes without any results.
