Comments
Headed into Butler Fork via Mill D, Dog Lake while walking the ridge of the main face of Soldier Fork we experienced a large collapse and watched the slope spiderweb with shooting cracks, the slope did not release but satisfied our curiosity about if it had old snow underlying the new, it did. Also of note was a natural avalanche that had pulled out late in the storm on the NE facing Swedish Corner in upper Butler Basin. We also got a good look at the Wilson Chutes which looked fat and loaded but had not avalanched. Most of this terrain has not been touched since it started snowing a week or so ago thus collapses were a dime a dozen where there was old snow underlying the new.
