Broken skies gave way to obscured in the few hours I was out there. Started out with no snowfall around 1pm, by 2 visibility was only 50 yards due to snowfall.

Saw John Haney out there and for what it's worth he said the snow sucked. That didn't stop him from putting in about 15 laps.

While traveling around I had widespread cracking and collapsing in low angle North-Northwest facing terrain. Decided to investigate, see attached snow profile. At the elevation I was at the October rain crust did not exist and all failures were occurring on facets at the ground.

Did find a graupel layer mid pack that could cause some problems but could only get failure on that layer with shovel tilt test.
