Headed back to Cardiac Ridge today for some solitude. The new snow was super light density and didn’t create much of a base for skinning up the south facing I guess that’s why I was the only one out there. The new snow was not bonding well to the old bed surface in steeper terrain, or for that matter it was not bonding well to rocks either. Noted some fairly large sluffs of the rocks above Hansen’s on the south end of Cardiac Ridge. The new light density snow did not change things much other than making it look better and hiding rocks just under the surface, it did not add additional weight or form any sort of wind slabs in the terrain covered, sluffing was the only activity today and that might be a thing of the past by tomorrow. Our thin snowpack continues to weaken and still seems as a bad set up for when it does start snowing
