Went to Cardiac Ridge via the Alta side, there was enough coverage to skin the whole south side in the morning but due to melting walking was required on the exit. The total amount of snow in Cardiac Bowl was 18 to 24 inches. The storm snow from last week had settled out and based up nicely and the 3 to 4 inches of new snow from Saturday night remained light and soft on the N facing. The snow below Saturday’s few inches was a mixture of windslabs an inch or so thick and soft settled powder. The windslabs seem nonreactive and glued in place. Unfortunately the surface snow on the high north has already begun to facet with the last couple cold clear nights. I think the off aspects and east facing will either get a melt freeze crust or melt out with warming temperatures but the snow on the high north is here to stay and will continue to facet, and my become problematic with our next load
