Snow Characteristics Comments

Good powder on the shady slopes up high with a slight crust felt underneath. The ridgeline I skied had many variations. Some really fun skiing, some that were so wind scoured it was treacherous. Down lower at the old ski area it was full on dust on crust. However halfway down the run where the slope angle was lower it wasn't bad at all.

Red Flags Comments
I'm still avoiding steeper open slopes because of the buried weak layer at the ground. It still is dormant but not worth the risk. It's still there. About 3" of weak sugary faceted snow on the ground.

Comments

Most of the snowpack is showing some strength but still about 3-4" of weak faceted snow on the ground. Total snow depth here at 11,000 ft is 44". This location probably has the most snow of anywhere in the range or close to it
