Snow Characteristics Comments

Snow surface is deteriorating. North facing in upper days was slightly damp mashed potatoes. Skied well at 14:00 where untracked and smooth, would suspect having a skin tomorrow morning. South was mostly supportable at 17:30 descent on slopes<35* on 112mm skis down to about 9,500'. At 9,800' south boot pen was up to the crotch, 70cm or more. Ski pen was only about 25cm. The wet snow/transitional snow/melt freeze corn layer seemed to be about the top 60cm, below that appeared to be older, slightly cooler drier snow.

Red Flags
Red Flags Comments
Pretty warm today but no naltural loose wet. Apeared to be small piles of skier triggered loose wet on steeper south slopes form the last few days. No notable loose wet noted on 17:30 decent on south face.

Problem #1 Comments

Not a major concern where traveled today. Very manageable, stubborn. Didn't observe any cornice natural calving where traveled today, but something to keep in mind with warm temps, strong solar.

Problem #2 Comments

Not observed but recent avalanches over the last week show that this is still an issue in outlier areas.
