Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
The snow pack has a very poor structure, but with out a slab this particular area doesn't have much of an avalanche hazard. If this structure ever gets capped by wind loading or significant snow fall it will certainly avalanche.

Comments
The snow in these bowls have been less than 60cm all season. Because of the shallowness of the snow pack in this area we have seen significant faceting through the majority of the snow pack with the largest and most developed right now. The top of the crust at 37cm has a dirt layer from the wind event on the 18th. We found .5mil rounds just above the dirt/crust layer. It will be interesting to see if this layer of dirt promotes faceting over time. Right now the structure is very poor, but lacks a slab on top to pose an avalanche problem.
