Good skiing in the protected areas. Of note was an obvious melt freeze crust under about 8 inches of settled snow - same culprit as the West monitor slide. Reactive above 35 degrees and something to watch as the next storm arrives. Pic of cornice drop, sluff from above, sluff from below, closeup. It's hard to see in the picture from below but the cornice chunk veered off to lookers right from the main part of the sluff, skidding atop the @2 inch melt freeze crust. Forecast was considerable, which was likely the case on steep wind slab terrain and will be decreasing but still sketchy tomorrow. Under 35 degrees is moderate with pockets of higher danger on rocky or shallow areas.
