Figured I'd just take a quick look at one of the aspects I missed yesterday. Only weak snow I saw was in the upper 20 cm of the snow pack, below each of the two thin crusts. Beneath the upper crust was a layer of graupel, that looked slightly faceted. But with some warm days ahead and stronger sun ahead, the soft snow layer, including the graupel, should end up heating and becoming part of another melt freeze crust. Should be easy to keep track of, perhaps even with hand pits. Strong looking snow pack.

Upper layers of snow pack
Close up of graupel, perhaps a few facets?
