Snow Characteristics Comments

Made it up to around 7500' in the Lewis Peak area. Found similar conditions that others reported in the Ogden Mountains. Large heart-stopping collapses up to 50+ feet away. Most wind loaded slopes had already naturally collapsed. The eggshell cracking was all that remained. I kept slope angles low, so no avalanching. Travel on skis is extremely difficult off of a road or trail due to deep brush, lack of a base and large rocks. New snow felt upside down and punchy with the weak facets. Staying on top was a challenge.
