I revisited the general area along the Snowbasin boundary where I dug a pit last weekend just prior to the 12" storm. It is a steep, NE aspect near 9000'. The main thing that stood out to me is the continued weakening and faceting of the mid-pack snow between and above the M/F and rain crusts. The facets felt much larger and looser than what I remember seeing last week. The surface snow in upper exposed areas is a mix of supportable and breakable wind slab and NSF.
