West Bowl, Hide-a-way, Two dogs. The new snow fell at moderate rates today. New snow density was very low and did create some Loose Dry avalanches but only in the top few inches of new snow. We were unable to get anything else moving on either the Wind loaded slopes or in areas that might have storm slabs. I was very surprised that there was no storm slab formation but the new snow density had to be less than 5%. I was able to get the tiniest pocket of wind slab to pop on a S aspect but nothing else really to note. I think the biggest take away from today is as the wind slabs and new snow start to slab a little more over night with post frontal winds you may find avalanches in unfamiliar places like SE aspects or on the ridges up to the Big Cottonwood ridge line.
Bad photo but very small wind slab, Wind Loading on S aspects of Big Cottonwood ridge line, obscured skies and S2 snowfall, There were many glam shots to be had today!
