Several new inches overnight and about a foot or so of new snow this past week in the Whitney Basin. When the visibility was good the riding conditions were fairly nice and supportable.

Moderate to strong winds were moving lots of snow around, creating quite sensitive soft wind slabs. These were up to two feet deep and a couple hundred feet wide. Both human and naturally triggered avalanches were observed on northeast through southeast facing slopes.
