Today was a lot warmer than yesterday. 50 degrees at 7,400 ft by 6 am. That is impressive. It is currently (4pm) 70 degress at the Huntsville weather station. THAT'S HOT. We were out of avalanche terrain by 10 am today and I think that was a reasonable call. Still a decent surface freeze last night at mid and upper elevations with clear skies. No Natural activity observed but I can only imagine it was coming down later in the day. Lots of glide cracks everywhere in the Chilly Peak area. Hopefully they stay in place till the cool down next week. Great turning conditions on East and SE aspects today. If you are planning on skiing I would say start really early and get out early.

While I was out today I would call it moderate but I was back at home by 11:00 am. I also stayed way away from cornices and large glide cracks. I can only imagine it climbed to considerable in some places today. Warmer temps tonight I am just guessing considerable by tomorrow afternoon even with clouds.
