Problem #1 Comments
Large, long running sloughs that picked up speed in steep terrain and took out most of the snow in the chutes our group rode. Created sizable debris piles at the bottom. Manageable with ski cuts but big enough to knock you off your feet and take you for a ride if you got caught. We were surprised that as the day went on the snow did not seem to settle and bond as well as we thought it would. The last chute we rode (Slipstream) around 4pm, west facing, was still very sensitive and ski cuts at the top created large sloughs that ran the full length of the chute.
