Snow Characteristics Comments

The new snow has settled a fair bit in the last few days. Sun was getting to south, west and east to some extent at most elevations. Fairly widespread distribution of surface hoar out there today although I traveled in areas where it is typically found. Something though to keep a eye on once it gets burred.

Comments

Not a whole lot of red flags out there today but still not green light conditions. I feel like you could still get a large unmanageable avalanche in a area with a thinner, weaker snow pack in just the right place. Cornices were less reactive today than in the past few days and still got no result from them on slopes that I tested. Outside the headwaters of LCC and BCC are where I would suspect an avalanche. Lambs, Provo, Ogden, Logan and Unitias are all suspect areas for me currently.

Huge 31mm or 3cm Surface Hoar crystal in BCC below.
