Wintery day in the mtns. Light snowfall mix with graupel. Some blustery winds but mostly light.

Light density surface snow ranging from 4-10" on top of crust. Low angle afforded the opportunity to stay on top of crust though broke through at lower end of low elevation slope.

Generally stable snowpack though surface snow and weak facets below brittle crust are a concern in this area. No big slab built up yet. Waiting for tomorrow's storm as a real test now that we have a decent, yet shallow base at low elevations.
