Red Flags
Red Flags Comments
Hesitant to check any of these boxes. Sure there's some weak surface snow and steep, rocky terrain has some issues, but overall we've got a nice looking snowpack.
Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Wind Drifted Snow
Problem #1 Comments

Shallow wind slabs along the leeward side of upper elevation ridges were starting to form by late in the day and will continue to grow more sensitive with the projected storm.

Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Problem #2 Comments

As the storm materializes, steep, rocky, upper elevation terrain with a thin snowpack should be carefully evaluated.

Comments

No formal pits... lots of pole and hand pits verify a rather homogenous pack. I don't think we're completely out of the woods quite yet, though right now I'm pretty psyched with our un-Uinta-like snowpack.
