Comments
Dug a quick pit just below Peak 10420 on a NE facing 30 degree slope at about 10300'. Had a propagation in my ECT with the first hit from the shoulder with a sudden collapse down 40 cm below the snow surface. Weak layer was a 5 cm thick, 4F hard layer of facets (probably NSFs) and some graupel. Some tracks, including a snowmobile track, were seen in the main bowl below the peak, with surface sluffing the only sign of instability. Overall, the snow was great and temperatures were mild, a nice day to be up in the mountains.
