Avalanche mitigation teams in the Salt Lake and Park City mountains reported new snow avalanches today, increasing in size and sensitivity in the afternoon. Cornice falls, sluffs, and soft slabs, reactive to ski cuts, many only a few inches deep. Grauple pooling beneath cliffs produced some of the deepest slabs – up to 2’. Natural cornice falls were noted, as was a shorter running slide in Little Pine.

The Ogden area mountains got hammered with over a foot of snow in 12 hours, with up to 2” of water. Explosives triggered Class 2 and class 3 slides in un-skied terrain and large collapses on upper elevation northeast facing slopes. Natural cornice falls were noted.
