Went to similar spot today as yesterday. John Paul area of Snowbasin which is currently out of bounds. The new snow has finally started to settle in with a little sun today. Widespread surface hoar in the 4 mm surface hoar. I was unable to find any notable pit results again today. I did notice a natural storm slab avalanche in the First finger on Mt. Ogden today. I was quite surprised but also glad to see some storm action. Looked like near the end of the storm Monday (11/28). Decent debris pile hard to make out crown. This is a very rocky area so not that surprising but highly doubt it has to much to do with a persistent weak layer. There were also some dry loose avalanches from yesterday. We will see what happens to the surface hoar as we go into the next storm. I was surprised how preserved it was today even on sunny (S aspect) slopes. No new news from our persistent weak layer!
