Comments
One last quick look at the snow coverage before the Wednesday night storm. Happily, most slopes are bare, with lingering snow mostly confined to due north. Snow depth is only 2 to 6", so the slopes of interest (or concern) are the snow covered slopes that are smooth underneath - either rock slabs or grassy slopes. The other terrain with snow of significance are the northerly facing gullies.
Despite of the warm temperatures, the snow on northerly facing slopes above about 9,600' has faceted - note the well developed angles and striations. Facets were 3 mm or less where I looked. If we get a quick load of snow that forms a slab, I'd expect it will be possible to trigger small pockety avalanches.
