Winds stronger than forecast this morning. Down right cool along the ridge line in the wind. Hard snow made ski crampons useful for skinning.

A combo of southeast winds and clouds that moved in early this morning resulted in slow warming of the snow. South and southeast didn't really soften until around 11 am. On the plus side, the winds kept the snow cool much longer, and to lower elevations.

Comments

Seems like clouds and a bit of cooling should keep wet activity to a minimum this weekend. Normal caution - with on the snow evaluation of the snow for heating where you are, and with an avoidance of large cornices and travel below glide cracks.
