Even at 8000ft in the Ben Lomond area there was only 1-2 inches of new snow. The base under this ranges from break-able to boiler plate to a nice soft base, and the turning was a variable as well.

No naturals, no collasping, no cracking, the east slopes down low warmed fast and became not supportable by 1pm

The deepest wind slab I found was only 3-4 inches and stubborn. There is just not any new snow up there to blow around.

this is the greater danger down below 7000ft. Above the boot tops by 1pm.
