Today was a great day for skiing. If you found places up high, Above 8000 ft or smooth surface underneath the new snow from Monday the skiing was awesome. What I found in my travels around the north end of Snowbasin was a mix bag. I did find some faceted snow about 12 inch down. This formed over our high pressure. In other places on similar aspects and elevations they were not as prevalent. The one conclusion I drew was that most facet growth was near facet farms or trigger points ( Trees, Rocks). I did a lot of hand shears today most were difficult to get to pop but they were all on a similar layer between two crusts. Currently I do not think we have a cohesive enough slab to cause any problems but maybe if this next storm comes in very heavy.
