We made it out to see how the snow was holding up with all the sun. We were pleasantly surprised with cold dry snow on north facing, upper elevation slopes. We came up on some fresh dry sluffs on northeast facing slopes around 9000 feet. The sluffs pulled very small soft slabs as it traveled down the hill. Other than the few dry sluffs on north through east facing slopes, we did not see any other signs of recently activity. We had minor sluffing as we descended the East face of Mt Elmer.
The snow was getting pretty sloppy on south and west facing slopes by afternoon and there will be a thick crust in many areas tomorrow. Even though the surface was getting wet, it stayed cool enough that we didn’t see any wet slides in the areas we were riding
