No formal pit today. Multiple hand pits in north facing upper Argenta start zone showed q1 shears 25cm down. CT-8 Q1 on the same layer failing on buried near surface facets. I wouldn't rule out getting a soft slab failure on this layer in convex north facing terrain. 5mm surface hoar observed in sheltered north facing terrain. Test slope and ski cuts throughout the morning showed loose snow sluffing only, no cracking or slab formation.
What else needs to be said about normal caution. Practice safe travel habits.
With folks working into confined complex terrain today, poor sluff management could carry you into or over problems.
