We found some nice settled or recrystallized powder on due north facing slopes, variable melt-freeze crusts on off aspects, and we avoided steep sunny terrain due to extensive and ongoing natural loose wet avalanche activity.

Found pretty good settled "powder" riding conditions and apparently stable snow in north facing terrain. We avoided sunny slopes but could see extensive recent and ongoing loose wet avalanche activity across Cherry Creek Canyon.

We're certainly finding development of weak surface snow. The recrystallized powder on north facing slopes consists of small grained sugary near surface facets. Not widespread, but down by the creek we found areas with beautiful feathery surface hoar or frost crystals....
