Difficult trail breaking today at mid to low altitudes. Warm humid conditions till about noon then cooling as the low moved into position. Fog (clouds?) rolling in and out with bouts of snow throughout the afternoon. HS 120cm, ECT24 q1 @ 105cm depth full propagation >:( with failure on the slowly rounding squares in the basement. These squares are so slow to heal, and prevalent enough to warrant a moderate warning on steeper slopes where any mistake means you're in the middle of the supportive Xmas storm slab by the time it fails. I can't see them failing unless another larger storm arrives, but the monster is in the closet. Shovel shear produced 2 layers in the new storm. One @ 25cm and one @ 7cm from surface. 20-25cm layer is our wind, crust, humidity layer and slough bed surface. Point releases noted on ALL slopes steeper than 35deg above 9000'.
