A few tests near the crown of the large natural avalanche were negative for propegation, with the slab falling appart before failure, but I did film a ECTP (20). This test result indicates that deep slabs are unlikely and hard to trigger, but still possible in places...

Comments

The avalanche had a few inches of deteriorating snow on the bed surface, so it had to be several days old. I think it occurred late in (or just after) the pre-Christmas storm, probably around 12-24-15.
