see photo of recent slides. Although I found solid snow in my snowpits, I do not trust the snowpack. There have been too many avalanches too reeently and lots of new snow. Recent winds have been calm and the mountains are very white....in other words they have a lot of snow on them that hasn't been blow off by strong winds.

4 recent slides were visible in this photo. There were at least 4 more outside the frame. Some at lower elevations. All broke at or near the ground. There were a few storm slab avalanches we found, but this intablity has likely already healed. Facets at the ground will not heal fast.

Snow profile from a SSE aspect at 8878 in elevations. Attached pit graph and photo of hand hardness layers. No weak layers and no facets seen in this pit.
