Snow Characteristics Comments

I came up from the Central Wasatch in search of snow without a rime crust on the surface, which I found at Beaver Mountain. There might have been an small rime crust where I traveled, but it was barely noticeable. Looking at the westerly facing trees across the canyon, they seemed to be coated with a rime crust, but I'm not sure. Anyways the main thing I wanted to mention is that there was surface hoar on all slopes besides southerly facing aspects, which maybe be another layer to keep an eye on. However, I think the main concern will be avalanches failing near the ground once it starts snowing.
