Went to E facing Cardiac Bowl to avoid wind damaged terrain and stay in the sun. Much of the high open terrain in upper Cardiff had wind damage or a wind crust from the last few days of NW wind. Noted 3 or 4 fresh wind slabs that had released naturally on the high E facing terrain, one of note seemed to happen recently because the debris pile looked fresh, the other pockets looked to have come out over night because the had wind drifted snow on the debris. These were small and inconsequential wind slabs that would only be a threat in high exposed rocky terrain. Also of note is that the dense slab formed before the Thanksgiving storm seems to be breaking down and faceting out after a few cold clear nights. Smacking rocks is still the biggest concern right now.
Photos: Wind slab that I walked up to look at, another wind slab that had released on E facing Mt Raymond and some of the other point releases and soft slab debris of the high rocky ridge.
