Snow Characteristics Comments

There was a large improvement in the snow quality from when I left yesterday at around 2:00pm, snow had settled out and a nice batch of graupel was put into the mix, making the snow more creamy and dense and intern keeping you off the bottom better. All aspects except high N was damp on our exit at 2:30pm, some of the S facing was starting to crust up because of cloud cover in LCC.

Comments

Back to Cardiff and happily surprised by the quality of skiing. Skied East right off the bat before the sun got to it, seemed to go off around 11:30am, saw a party on Cardiac Ridge set off a small wet slide around this time. Stuck to NE and due N after that. Also watched a decent sized wet slide pull out naturally in the rocks between Cardiac Ridge and the Bowl around the same time, this aspect is mostly E with a little S thrown in, ran on the old slick dirty crust. Would think that high NE and N would still be dry in the morning, not sure about NW, seemed to clear up quite a bit in the later afternoon. Photos Natural wet slide, wet activity on the S facing noted on our exit, Cloud cover in the afternoon, Due N dry snow mid day, Black Knob looking bony for this time of year

Moderate for wet activity.
