Snow Characteristics Comments
Yesterday I got a bit skunked on south facing slopes with a rough old surface and not enough new snow to smooth things out. Today I went in search of smoother surfaces and higher elevation N facing slopes. I had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. LSB was smooth and bottom feedy, but edgeable and fun to ski. Then I headed up to the top of MIll B. Coming down NW of Superior I found some old faceted snow in wind scoured areas and some small slabs in loaded areas. Both skied well. In Upper Mill B I was able to find really good skiing above about 10300ft on protected due North slopes. The old snow was shaded from the sun enough that it remained soft with no buried crusts. Down lower everything was damp. Some places skied like corn others were a bit grabby.

Nothing major here. maybe some warming but mostly not when and where I was traveling.

Again, I figured without regular advisories any and all info would be helpful for those still looking to get out into the mountains. Picture 1: Smooth but thins turns down LSB. Picture 2: Facety and wind blow turns down NW Superior. Picture 3: Creamy powder turns down upper Mill B
