Snow Characteristics Comments

Snow is still quite good with supportable corn on most aspects, frozen in the morning and mush in the afternoon. There is still a few scraps of dry, old snow on the straight north facing slopes between 10,000 and 11,000'.

Red Flags Comments
Not any red flags I could see. Everything seems quite stable and all the slopes are tracked up.
Comments

The view from Patsy Marly looking down Little Cottonwood Canyon. Even here at high elevations, the strait south facing slopes are quite bare up to the highest elevations. For the most part, the only snow left is on the north through east facing slopes above about 8,000'.

A view of the south side of Gobbler's and Raymond, which don't have hardly any snow left. And it's still March!

Looking across to the south facing slopes in upper Big Cottonwood Canyon. Grim. Guardsman's Pass road is bare pavement and I suspect they are plowing the other sections because the gates are across the road at the Guardsman's trailhead. A lot of snowmobilers drive up, turn around and head back down disappointed.

A wider view from Wolverine showing Wolverine Cirque in the foreground.
