Problem #1 Comments

New snow had a noticeable density inversion from todays storm snow down 10cm, but was not enough new to form cohesive slabs by itself, and there was little wind effect in this location. Thin wind slabs were forming over this in isolated locations near the ridge, and were easy to initiate. The furthest propagated up to 30m wide.

Problem #2 Comments

The now buried layer of NSF from the end of Feb were found 30cm down from the surface, and would fail with sudden collapses with compression tests. As the snowfall piles up and the slab becomes more connected this layer is likely to become reactive.
